We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed the Structural Inspection, the final stage of the Korea Energy Agency (KEA) import inspection process.
This inspection is a critical procedure to verify that imported pressure vessels meet South Korea's structural safety standards. It involves a comprehensive review of all documentation, testing results, and on-site verification.

■ Installation and Verification of Pressure Gauges
For the structural inspection, a total of three pressure gauges were installed (two at the very top and one on the upper side).
- Key Detail: Although installing a gauge on the side is not a mandatory requirement, we added an extra one due to the massive size of the vessel. This allowed the inspector to easily and clearly verify the pressure readings from the ground level.
- This proactive measure ensured both inspection efficiency and safety, demonstrating our attention to detail and adaptability to on-site conditions.
■ What is the KEA Structural Inspection?
The structural inspection is the final safety audit to verify the material, thickness, welding quality, and design compliance of imported vessels. Completion of this stage is mandatory to proceed with subsequent Installation Inspections and Periodic Inspections (Safety Inspections for Continued Use). It is essentially the final gateway to legally operating the equipment in Korea.

■Stamping the KEA Mark After Completion
- After successfully passing the audit, the KEA official mark is stamped (engraved) next to the structural inspection number.
- Once approved, the inspection number and the KEA mark are directly engraved onto the metal surface. Unlike paint or stickers, this serves as a permanent identification mark.
■ Strategic Selection of the Stamping Location
The engraving was performed on the clamp area of the shell (the non-insulated section).
- The Reason: This ensures that inspectors can visually verify the mark during future Installation Inspections or Field Audits without having to remove the insulation.
- This is a crucial practical tip for long-term maintenance and operational efficiency.

■ Visibility of the Inspection Number and KEA Mark
- The engraving was executed with high clarity to ensure easy identification for future history management and site inspections, strictly following all regulatory standards.
■ Final Reflections on Completing All Inspections
With the successful conclusion of this structural inspection, all KEA-required procedures for these imported vessels have been completed.
The journey—spanning complex procedures, schedule coordination, and on-site response—was challenging, but seeing it through without any major issues brings a great sense of accomplishment. While I feel a sense of relief, there is also a bit of sadness in parting with the dedicated professionals I’ve worked closely with throughout this project.
